Skiing Spain

From Cómpeta you can reach the ski slopes, by car, in two hours. So to enjoy a full day of skiing we leave Cómpeta at 07.00 A.M. and we will return there a little after 07.00 P.M. It is not necessary to make a reservation from abroad in advance. You can make your reservation when you are here and let it depend on the weather forecast of which day to go. A minimum of 2 participants is required. You only need to take your ski clothes with you from home. Skis and ski boots can be rented in Pradollano at a reasonable rate.

The Ski Resort

The Sierra Nevada is the most southern ski-area of Europe. The ski resort Pradollano is at an altitude of 2100 meters. The ski lifts go to an altitude of more than 3,300 meters, almost to the top of the mountain Veleta from where on a clear day the mountains on the other side of the Mediterranean (Marocco) can be seen.

There are over 65 kilometers marked ski runs varying in gravity from green (very easy), blue (easy) and red (difficult) to black (very difficult). All levels of skiers can have a good time here and facilities for children are good.

The ski season starts at the end of November and closes at the end of April. The ski season is divided into 4 different periods: promotion season (beginning and end of the season), low season, mid season and high season. The ski lifts run from 09.00 A.M. until 05.00 P.M.
