Next walk: 5 August 2009
depending upon the weather.
Duration approximately 9.5 hours,
only for experienced walkers
Height gain 1460 metres
Height loss 1200 metres.
At 6.30 am we leave Cómpeta with 2 cars. 1 car we will park at the Puerto de la Cruz del Muerto (altitude 860 m), the other car we will park above Salares (altitude 600 m), where the walk starts. First we follow a footpath along the acequia (irrigation channel), then the goat trails along the mountain-ridge passing the ruins of Casa de Cuascuadra until we reach the plateau the Llanadas of Sedella, at an altitude of over 1600 meters. From here we walk through a fantastic landscape via the fountain Tacita de Plata to the top of the Maroma. After our lunch on the top we will descend to the Puerto de la Cruz del Muerto partly via another route. This is one of the most spectacular walks in Malaga on the "roof of the world" and should not be missed by an experienced walker.
At about 5.00 pm we will be back in Cómpeta richer with so many impressions. The next day your muscles might hurt a bit, but the good memories will prevail.
